Portrait of a Surviving Family
This assignment was a series of portraits of people who bought flags to honor those who are serving or have served in the military for Memorial Day. This husband and wife bought a flag to honor their son who was killed in action in November of 2003. The wound was still very raw for them. They pulled out every piece of memorial they have from their son, from photo albums to his military insignias. He was newly married when he died, and a present day picture of his daughter sits in the corner. Any critique would be welcome.
