Military Homecoming

Fayetteville is a big military town with one of the biggest military bases in the US-Fort Bragg. I have been fortunate enough to photograph several homecomings where the families reunite with returning soldiers. Family members are dressed up in their finest, every child holds an American flag and signs reading "Welcome home Daddy!", and tears stained cheeks are everywhere you look. The first homecoming I photographed is below. We followed a specific family that originally had over a dozen people to welcome home this soldier. Due to the volcano in Iceland and a variety of delays on the Army's side, the soldiers returned over 2 weeks passed their expected arrival date. Only the soldier's wife and mother stayed behind to greet him. Any comments or critiques would be welcome. Thanks for looking.
